The internet seems really empty today. Did everyone disappear while I wasn't looking?

You're just looking in the wrong direction. Plenty is happening on my LJ friends list alone, to say nothing of Facebook, Twitter, Daily Kos, and Usenet, although the drum and bugle corps group is pretty fucking dead today.

When were you on Usenet and what groups did you post to?

Well, never, really. :/ I sadly missed that era.

I agree, not much on my end.

I'm currently working on an Omniverse post (my fictional series) on DW about how my Star Wars-verse works. I've done this for Tolkien and am now doing it for SW, and will be doing the next 'Verse as my take on Transformers.

It'll be done shortly, it traverses the whole of Star Wars to my rather different Great Clone War that explains why my 'Verse is more Dune-like than the original one (let's just say that it turns into a semi-Butlerian Jihad of sorts).

Ooh, Star Wars! :D :D I was just playing Kotor the other day. I adore the SW extended universe; can't wait to see your versionz1

It's done. What my Omniverse versions often do is end up altering the backstory to fit into the Omniverse itself and while original canon survives somewhat intact......I'll be interested to read your viewpoint. But it *is* a long post, as it takes everything from a version of the Unfinished Robert Silverberg Preview to the Battle of Yavin analogue.

As I said, I would like to see your take on it. One difference of the two 'Verses that comes to explain a lot is that the actual canon had pretty much EVERYTHING plotted for by Sidious, where here one of his plans Goes Horribly Wrong.
