Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.
Ghosts- I've been fascinated with the idea of ghosts ever since I was a little kid. I'm talking like, 7 years old here. From that time forward I read anything with ghosts in it that I could find; from true accounts to RL. Stine books etc. And I monopolized the history channel and A&E from my dad watching all of the True Ghost Hunting documentaries (back in the early 90s A&E showed a lot of those for some reason. Not as many now). And I never stopped. It was my springboard into the paranormal, introducing me to psychics, cryptids, UFOs, and the bermuda triangle. I'd go so far to say if there is a TV docudrama about one of those subjects made before 2001 I have without a doubt, already seen it. Now days I am absolutely enamored with Ghost Hunters, and I still have a shelf full of paranormal lit. All that said, I'm still not convinced that I believe in ghosts; in other words, I have yet to experience one myself. This causes me a lot of frusteration, since I think much of my fixation on ghosts and paranormal phenomenon stems from my fear of death.
Demons- This is a slightly more difficult topic. Demons seem to mean something different to everyone. Does it me evil spirits? spirits opposed to god? any kind of spirit who isn't the ghost of a human? or just a malevolent, unknowable and capricious force?
I'm not frightened of the devil. I'm not frightened of any teacher/testing/trickster figures. Its who I worship. I'm not firghtedned of evil spirits, if they've got a conciousness that a human can understand. Davis-we have a lot in common. I'm sure as hell not afraid of nature spirits (respectful of, but not afraid). But some undirected, unknowable entity of harmful intent? Read eyes staring down ar you from an inky cloud of shadow that''s just a shade deeper than the dakr of your bedroom, while a horrible scratching noise persists? That I might be afraid of.
But what does demon mean to me? When I identify myself as a demon, I mean it pretty much as a code word for 'mazoku', which menas I view it as meaning 'spirit of chaos/darkness who is opposed to spirits of order/light. That's not very helpful, is it? I could go into a longer explanation of what 'being a demon' means to me, but it would take up a lot more space. Maybe I'll devote a whole post to it sometime soon. I'd be curious to know what it means to the demons on my friends lists as well, though I suspect the answer might be "internet troll targeting otherkin". :P And that might be a valid response.
Davis- You just had to go and pick another hard one, didn't you? Davis is an idiot. Davis is one of maybe 3 people I've known in any life who has been able to make me feel guilty for doing bad things. In his blundering heroism he's the ONLY person who has ever inspired me to think maybe its worth it to stand up and fight, even if you don't think you can make a difference. It sounds melodramatic but although he was neither eloquent, nor subtle, he is the closest thing to an angel I've ever had. And he wouldn't give up on me. Not even time after time when I let him down. He refused to let me wallow in self-pity, or fall into grandiose madness. He was a genuinely fun, happy, sort of "innocent" person, all his life. I hope he knows how much he meant to me.
Soda- SODA IS DelICIOUS! IT IS THe STAPLE OF MY DieT. ONLY COLA IS TRUE SODA. CANe SUGAR COLA IS THE BEEEEeSST. Seriously, I've been addicted to soda, specifically coke and pepsi since I was three. My paternal grandmother, who my parents lived with back then, thought it was good for me. I don't think there have been more than 2 dozen days in my whole life since then where I have gone without drinking a cola. Pepsi is my standard favorite, but any brand will do in a pinch, and I like trying brands I haven't tasted before.
