If we're going by Norse (and I'm a bit shaky, please excuse me) it could be the sun and night goddesses. From what I remember, the sun (Sunna, right?) is female and the moon is male, but the day deity is male and the night is female.
They don't ring any bells for me, which means you could be dealing with minor deities of any pantheon- or just deities from a pantheon we aren't familiar with- or deities outside of any known pantheons.
